Agreement

Horoskopos (the website at horoskopos.com and its sign-in and sync service) is operated by Crow & Crone ("we", "us"). By using it you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Horoskopos.

You must be at least 13 to use Horoskopos, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms (or have a parent or guardian agree for you).

What Horoskopos is — and isn't

Horoskopos calculates astrological charts and presents traditional interpretations of them. Astrology is not a science, and nothing in Horoskopos is a prediction or a recommendation to act. It is not medical, mental-health, legal, financial or other professional advice. Don't make decisions about your health, money, relationships or safety based on it.

Your account

An account is optional and exists only to sync your charts across your devices. Keep access to your sign-in email or Google account secure — anyone who controls it can reach your synced charts. Tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account.

You can sign out or delete your account at any time from the Charts page. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first so you can export your charts.

Your charts

The charts and other information you enter belong to you. You give us permission to store, copy and transmit them only as needed to run Horoskopos for you — for example, to sync them to your other devices. We don't use them for anything else.

If you enter someone else's birth details, make sure you're comfortable doing so — birth dates and places are personal information, and you're responsible for having them.

Our content and code

Horoskopos — its software, design, wheel and glyph artwork, interpretive text and everything else we provide, except your own charts — is © Crow & Crone, all rights reserved. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Horoskopos for your own non-commercial purposes.

Sharing images and exports

You're welcome to share the chart images, printed reports, text exports and screenshots you make in Horoskopos — keep them, print them, send them to friends, or post them publicly on social media or a personal site — as long as you credit Horoskopos. Every export carries a horoskopos.com credit; leave it visible, or, if you crop it out, credit horoskopos.com alongside the image.

That permission is for personal, non-commercial sharing. Please don't republish Horoskopos's interpretive text in bulk, or use its images or exports in a product, a paid service or advertising, without our written permission.

Some parts of Horoskopos come from other people and carry their own licenses, which these terms don't change — for example the astronomy-engine library, the IBM Plex typefaces, and place data from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0). The methods page credits the sources we rely on.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

• copy, resell, rent or redistribute Horoskopos, or offer it as part of another service;
• scrape it, or access the sign-in and sync service other than through the Horoskopos website;
• probe, disrupt or overload it, get around its rate limits or security, or try to reach anyone else's data;
• reverse-engineer our servers, or remove copyright or other notices (this doesn't limit anything the law lets you do regardless);
• use it to break the law or to harass or harm anyone.

Feedback and support

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything. "Buy me a coffee" contributions are voluntary gifts — they don't buy features, support or any other service.

No warranty

We work hard on accuracy, and the methods page explains how positions are calculated and checked. Still, Horoskopos is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — including that calculations are accurate, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that synced data will never be lost. Keep an exported backup of anything you can't afford to lose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of Horoskopos. Our total liability for any claim relating to Horoskopos is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. That's a ceiling on what a court could award if a claim succeeded — not an amount anyone is owed or can ask for. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Changes

We may change Horoskopos or these terms. If a change to the terms is significant, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect; continuing to use Horoskopos afterward means you accept the new terms. We may also stop offering Horoskopos — if we shut down the sync service, we'll give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your charts.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer laws of where you live.
