As of October 2026, Neptune is in Aries. Neptune first entered Aries on 30 March 2025; because retrograde motion carries it back and forth across the sign's boundary, it enters three times in this pass and leaves for good on 23 March 2039. It moves on into Taurus on 21 May 2038, and retrograde motion brings it back on 21 October 2038. Before that, Neptune first entered Aries on 13 April 1861 and, because retrograde motion carried it back and forth across the sign's boundary, entered it three times in all before leaving for good on 7 April 1875. After this pass, Neptune returns to Aries on 23 May 2188.

Neptune in Aries: context
Neptune has no standing in Hellenistic astrology, which knew only the seven planets visible to the eye; Neptune was first identified through a telescope in 1846. In the traditional scheme Aries is the house of Mars, the Sun's exaltation (at 19°) and Saturn's depression (Ptolemy, Tetrabiblos I.17, I.19; Dorotheus, Carmen Astrologicum I.2).
This pass began alongside Saturn. On 20 February 2026 Saturn and Neptune met at 0°45′ Aries. It was their first conjunction since 1989, when they met three times between 10° and 12° Capricorn (3 March, 24 June and 13 November). The one before that, in 1952–53, fell in Libra.
