Saturn in Pisces: context
Pisces gives Saturn little essential dignity. It is Jupiter's house; Venus is exalted there, at 27°, and Mercury depressed (Ptolemy, Tetrabiblos I.17, I.19; Dorotheus, Carmen Astrologicum I.2). Its triplicity lords are Venus, Mars and the Moon (Carmen I.1). Saturn's shares are small: the last two degrees as its Egyptian bound, or term (Tetrabiblos I.20; Valens, Anthology I.3), and the first ten degrees as its decan in the Chaldean order that this site's dignity labels use.
In Pisces, then, Saturn is a guest in Jupiter's house. Ptolemy puts both planets in the day sect with the Sun (Tetrabiblos I.7). Dorotheus, having just named a planet's house, triplicity and exaltation, says that when a malefic is in its own place its evil "becomes lighter and decreases" (Carmen I.6). Pisces is none of those three for Saturn.
