Jupiter in Leo: context
Leo is the Sun's house (Ptolemy, Tetrabiblos I.17), so Jupiter is a guest of the Sun there, but not a stranger. Ptolemy gives the fire triplicity to the Sun by day and Jupiter by night (I.18), and Dorotheus lists Jupiter among its lords in both sects (Carmen Astrologicum I.1). The Egyptian bounds, or terms, give Jupiter the first six degrees of Leo (Tetrabiblos I.20; Valens, Anthology I.3), and the Chaldean-order decans this site's dignity labels use give it the middle ten.
Ptolemy counts both the Sun and Jupiter as day planets (Tetrabiblos I.7), so host and guest share a sect. Leo holds neither exaltation nor depression for Jupiter; those are Cancer and Capricorn. In the current pass Jupiter turns retrograde at 27°01′ Leo on 13 December 2026 and direct at 16°59′ Leo on 13 April 2027 (UTC). The loop stays inside Leo, which is why this pass has a single entry.

How Jupiter moves through the zodiac
Across 1850–2150, Jupiter spent about 8.2 months to 13 months in a sign on each pass, not counting retrograde dips out of it, and it returned to the same sign about every 12 years. 39% of passes included at least one retrograde dip back over a sign boundary.
